Different studies show varied results in the morbidity pattern and health problems in the elderly in India. Most study reports decreased visual acuity due to cataract and refractive errors and hearing impairment. The elderly in India suffer from minimal to severe disabilities due to these health conditions.The workshop is for elders who have volunteered to participate in Health Literacy Campaign,where self care and mutual help of other elders in thier community is encouraged.This is based on the concept of WHO Guidelines of Active Ageing.
